Union fights for laid off firefighters

Local 93 of the Cleveland Fire Fighters Association met Thursday on the steps of Cleveland City Hall.

Thomas M. Lally, the union president, is calling on Cleveland  to give 24 laid off firefighters a chance. The city is currently accepting applications for an open examination to become medical technician trainees.

One firefighter already applied, but got rejected. After the demonstration several other firefighters filed their applications with Cleveland's Civil Service Commission.
