University of Akron head football coach Terry Bowden announced the addition of nine people to his staff, including seven assistant coaches, a director of operations and a strength and conditioning coach.  Each hire is pending approval by the University's Board of Trustees.

The list of assistant coaches include Alan Arrington (offensive line), Jeff Bowden (special teams coordinator/outside receivers), Trent Boykin (running backs), A.J. Milwee (quarterbacks), John Pont (recruiting coordinator/inside receivers), Todd Stroud (defensive line) and Mike Woodford (safeties).

Added to the staff as director of operations was Ben Murphy, while John Grieco has come on as the program's strength and conditioning coach.

Bowden, who was named as the Zips' 27th all-time coach on Dec. 22 following three seasons as head coach at North Alabama, named Chuck Amato as associate head coach and defensive coordinator on Jan. 3 and Terrell Buckley as cornerbacks coach on Jan. 6.

"I'm excited about the staff we've putting together," Bowden said.  "There's a lot of experience in this group and many of them have worked with one another before, so there's a lot of familiarity as well, which is important."
