Cleveland recalls 24 laid-off cops

Mayor Frank G. Jackson will administer the Oath of Office to 24 returning Cleveland Patrol Officers at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in the Chief's Media Room in the Justice Center.

The City of Cleveland received grant money to bring 24 laid-off officers back to work.

Police Union President Steve Loomis told 19 Action News back in September that the funds will allow the city to pay the returning officers for three more years.

In May 2011, the City of Cleveland laid-off 81 police officers and 42 police cadets.
