STOW, OH (WOIO) - Stow police have nabbed a serial robber.

Saturday, the Srow Police Department responded to a report of a robbery around 1:26 a.m. at the CVS store located at 3352 Kent Road.

Witnesses stated a male came to the register with an item for purchase.  When the clerk began to open the register drawer, he announced, "This is a robbery!" He then tried to grab the register drawer, but the clerk was able to force it closed.

No weapon was seen or threatened.  He left the store and was observed speeding from the lot in a red car.  He was described as a white male, wearing a blue jacket, grey t-shirt and blue jeans. He did not get any money from CVS.

The description of the suspect matched that of a male who committed a robbery in a nearby jurisdiction on Friday.  He also matched the description and method of operation of a male who was arrested for robberies that occurred in the Stow/Cuyahoga Falls area in September of 2011.

Officers went to the residence of the male previously arrested for the robberies in September to speak to him.  At the home, officers found a vehicle matching the one used in the CVS robbery.

Evidence which linked him to this robbery as well as others in the area was recovered.

Stow Police arrested Joseph Richard Schratz IV, of Stow, Ohio.
