AKRON, OH (WOIO) - New details in the tragic death of a little girl in Akron.
13-month-old Aoliani McCray died last September after she was left for hours inside a hot SUV.
Now, the babysitter accused of leaving the child strapped in her car seat has pleaded no contest to involuntary manslaughter charges.
On September 2nd, Lisa Scott got the four children she was babysitting out of her SUV around 9:30AM, but didn't remember about little Aoliani until 2PM. The little girl died at the hospital a short time later.
The area was under a heat advisory that day, with a heat index reaching 100 degrees.
The baby's family doesn't want Scott to go to jail, but instead have asked for maximum community control as her sentence.
Judge Tom Parker sentenced her to five years community control, during which she is barred from providing any sort of childcare services.
If she violates the terms of the community control, she will go to prison for three years.
He also sentenced her to 200 hours of community service and she must undergo a mental health evaluation.
