Teen arrested for assaulting 68-year-old at library

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - A 13-year-old boy arrested after assaulting a 68-year-old man at the library.

It happened Monday around 5:30PM at the Cleveland Heights Library on Lee Road.

Police say the man was sitting at a table reading a book when several juveniles approached him.
One grabbed the man's hat, which was on a chair. Words were exchanged, and the man got his hat back.

The boys then followed him upstairs in the library. One pushed the man in the chest, and the 68-year-old took the teen to the ground and held him until police arrived.

The 13-year-old boy is charged with assault and theft (for the hat).

Police also caught one of the boy's friends and charged him with curfew violation, trespassing and disorderly conduct.
