The Indians placed pitcher Fausto Carmona/Roberto Hernandez on the restricted list Thursday after being arrested for giving a false identity.
The Indians starter was arrested last week in his native Dominican Republic.
Players on the restricted list do not count against the Indians' 25- or 40- man rosters and will not get paid until he is activated. Carmona is scheduled to make $7 million this season.
Carmona/Hernandez is eligible for reinstatement when he reports to the Indians.
