Businesses evacuated after bomb scare, ends up being old typewriter

MENTOR, OH (WOIO) - Mentor Police were called to an alley between Toth's Place and the AAA office on Heisley Road Monday afternoon after a Toth's employee called police to report a suspicious package.

After officer's arrived, they called the Lake County Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team to the scene

Toth's Place, AAA office and the Salvation Army Store were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

The Lake County EOD Team determined that the suspicious suitcase was not bomb, but rather contained an older style typewriter.

The affected businesses then resumed normal operations.
