COVENTRY TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) - The South Summit Dive Team is investigating a tip that a body and stolen property are at the bottom of Portage Lakes North Reservoir.
Summit County Sheriff's Inspector tells 19 Action News they received the credible tip and asked the dive team for help.
Dive team members did discover bones on an island, but the Summit County Medical Examiner determined the bones are those of an animal.
Investigators are now looking at the underwater video taken by the dive team.
Using sonar, investigators say they did see "something" that stuck out but won't be specific. "Just the shapes… the things they are hitting on could be stolen items or other things we are looking for" says Inspector Bill Holland with the Summit County Sheriff's Department.
The Sheriff's Office will not elaborate on what they are investigating that led to the tip.
The dive team wrapped up their search around dusk Friday, no word on if they'll go back in anytime soon.
