CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH (WOIO) - A Cuyahoga Falls Police Officer is recovering after being struck by his own cruiser while out on a traffic stop.
According to police, two officers were out on a suspected drunk driving traffic stop at Northampton Road and West Portage Trail when Kimberly Stumpf crashed into the police cruiser causing it roll forward onto one of the officers.
The suspect from the initial drunk driving traffic stop was in the police cruiser at the time of the crash.
Stumpf was charged with OVI, BAC and Assured Clear Distance.
The injured officer was treated and released from a local hospital.
