East Cleveland Mayor ponders punishment for cops who shot up car after traffic stop

EAST CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The East Cleveland Mayor is considering the punishment for two police officers who shot up a car after a traffic stop last month.

It happened on January 10th at Euclid and Shaw.

Officer Brandon Smith and Officer Matthew Farrell pulled over a driver after she ran a few red lights.

The officers got out of their cruiser, saw the car backing up, and thought the driver was trying to hit them.

She was later slapped with criminal charges - felony assault and failure to comply.
