Young fire victims fighting for their lives

A two-year-old boy and his seven-year-old sister are fighting for their lives at separate hospitals following a violent blaze at their home Monday night.

Thanks to Cleveland firefighters, both kids still alive.

The fire on Dunham Avenue almost turned deadly. Six children between the ages of 2 and 13 were inside the home when it went up into flames, their parents were not home.

Cleveland Firefighter Stan Stone says it was a team effort and that firemen from Station 10 jumped right into action. Robert Reid was also on duty that evening. Reid is a second generation firefighter, and has been with the department for twenty-two years.

Thanks to a child smelling smoke in the house, most of the kids got out safely. Cleveland Firefighters battled heavy flames and smoke to rescue the remaining two.

Arianna Smith, 7, was rushed to Rainbow Babies and her 2-year-old brother, Davion Jackson, was taken to Metro Health Medical Center.

Both children remain in critical but stable condition thanks to our "everyday" heroes.
