EAST CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - East Cleveland Police have 3 suspects in custody, but are still looking for two more in connection with the shooting death of an 18-year-old girl.
Dena-Jua Delany was shot to death on Garfield Road and Euclid Avenue just before 4PM Wednesday afternoon.
Police say Dena-Jua was shot while walking in the area of Superior Elementary. According to witnesses, the teen was with a couple of friends when they got into an altercation with another group.
The victim's friends say during the commotion, Dena-Jua was shot in the face.
Dena-Jua was rushed to Metro where she died from her injuries.
"I just miss my friend so much. I can't believe it happened to her," said Charde Wade.
She leaves behind an infant son.
