Dove Avenue homicide suspect could be connected to another murder

A man has turned himself in for the murders of two men found in a vacant home on Dove Avenue near E.120th Street.

The suspect turned himself a short while ago to Cleveland Police with his attorney.

Cleveland Police tell 19 Action News that Homicide Detectives were able to obtain Aggravated Murder warrants for Jonathan Powell, 19, in connection with the homicides of Cedric D. Tate and Trevaun S. Brown which occurred on Sunday, February 19, 2012, at 12613 Dove Avenue.

19 Action News has learned police are also investigating a possible connection between the Dove Avenue homicides and a 15-year-old male fatally shot in Garfield Heights earlier this week.

It's unclear what the connection is, however nobody has been arrested in the teen's death at this time.

Powell's attorney, Anthony Jordan, says his client isn't talking to police at this time per his advice.

A vigil will be held Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the crime scene for the shooting victims.
