Ted Ziolkowski, who is renovating his home so he can rent it out, was sleeping on the couch in the living room when he heard someone in the hallway just outside the kitchen door. Next, he saw a flashlight beam, and heard the door being pried open. That is when Ziolkowski fired one shot into the hallway, and called police."He started prying my lock with a screw driver... when I saw that I kicked the door open and I fired a shot" says Ziolkowski.

Police arrived on seen and found the teenage suspect with a gunshot wound to the torso. He was armed with a crowbar and handgun. EMS transported the teen to MetroHealth Medical Center where he underwent surgery.
