Bad weather causes fatal accident

ASHLAND COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - The Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident in Ruggles Township, Ashland County.  It happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday night.

Troopers say Will Arthur Gaydos, 21 of New London was eastbound on US 224 when he lost control of his car and went off the side of the road near the Ashland-Huron County line.

Gaydos struck and embankment and overturned, coming back onto 224 and flipping upright again.  He was wearing a seatbelt, but was pronounced dead on the scene.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, however Troopers believe unsafe speed for the road conditions were a factor.

The Ashland County Coroner, Ruggles-Troy Fire Department, and ODOT were on scene to assist.  The crash remains under investigation.
