Cleveland Police are investigating after a woman stabbed a man over a cell phone.
Police were called to E. 84th and Central for a male stabbed. By the time they arrived, someone had already started driving the victim, identified as Bill Roche, 47 to the hospital.
After talking to the victim, police learned that Roche knew the suspect and had been drinking with her earlier in the evening. He told police she had left her cell phone at the bar, so he took it for her.
Around 3 a.m., he was walking in the area of E. 84th and Central when she pulled up in a car, exited the vehicle and attempted to give him a hug.
While "hugging" the Roche, she stabbed him in the back twice and accused him of stealing her cell phone.
Roche grabbed the knife and she fled. Police will only say the suspect is a 47-year-old black female.
This matter will be further investigated by the Third District Detective Bureau.
