SANDUSKY, OH (WOIO) - The Highway Patrol is investigating a double fatal accident that happened on Perkins Avenue near Pipe Street in Sandusky.
Troopers say around 3:30 a.m. an F-150 went off the road, through a yard, and struck a tree. The two people in the car were ejected.
The truck then spun and crashed into a house. The truck and house both caught on fire.
Five people were in the home at the time, they all made it out OK.
The passenger of the truck, Bradley Vickery, 30 of Bellevue was transported to Firelands Regional Medical Center by Sandusky Fire Department. He later passed away from his injuries.
The male driver has yet to be identified. His body was released to Erie County Coroner Dr. Brian Baxter for identification.
The vehicle was towed by Walt's Auto Repair of Sandusky.
Seat belts were not in use by either occupant. The crash remains under investigation. It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol are involved.
Sandusky Highway Patrol units were assisted at the scene by the Sandusky Police Department, Sandusky Fire Department, Walt's Auto Repair and Erie County Coroner's Office.
