Career criminal who attacked military vet heads to prison

A career criminal who attacked a military vet received a two year sentence this week.

Now that the case is closed, the attack caught on tape has been released to the public.

Tracy Mallett walked onto the grounds of veteran hospital looking for trouble.

He attacked a vet riding a bike in broad daylight. Next, he stole his victim's bike.

19 Action News did some digging into Mallett's criminal past. Turns out, he's been indicted twenty times prior to present case.

This time around, Mallett struck a plea deal with Cuyahoga County Prosecutors. Judge Daniel Gaul handed down a simple, two year prison sentence.
