Cleveland (WOIO) - The Pittsburgh Steelers released former Glenville star Troy Smith on Monday.
Smith signed with Pittsburgh on January 20 after playing with the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League.
The former Heisman Trophy winner was a 2007 fifth round draft pick of the Baltimore Ravens. He appeared in 14 games going 1-1 as a starter.
He was released in September, 2010 and later signed with San Francisco. Smith started six games for the 49ers, starting six games with a 3-3 record.
