New York, NY (WOIO) - This road trip is threatening to leave the Indians as road kill, especially if they can't rediscover their bats. For the third straight game, the Tribe fell hard, as the Yankees jumped out to an early lead and cruised to a 7-1 win at Yankee Stadium on Monday night.
Robinson Cano got them going in the first, with a two-run double off of Josh Tomlin, and Dewayne Wise followed it up in the second with a two-run homer to give New York a 4-0 lead.
Cano followed up in the third with a solo home run of his own, Nick Swisher homered in the third as well, and Wise had an RBI triple in the 6th.
Tomlin lasted only three innings, giving up six runs. Hiroki Kuroda, on the other hand, was sensational for the Yankees, striking out seven in seven innings.
The Indians managed their lone run on Jason Kipnis' sacrifice fly in the 8th.
