AKRON, OH (WOIO) - A 37-year-old Akron woman pleaded guilty to assaulting an ER worker and her ex-boyfriend.

Teri R. Garko pleaded guilty to Attempted Murder, Felonious Assault and Assault of an Emergency Medical Worker. As part of the agreement, Garko will spend 11 years in prison.

In April 2011, Garko sought emergency medical treatment at Akron General Medical Center. Upset at what she felt was a long delay in being examined and treated, Garko attacked the psychiatric technician who was assigned to check Garko's vital signs. Garko punched and kneed the female victim numerous times in the face, chest and spine. She also slammed the woman's head into the floor and ripped a patch of hair and scalp from the woman.

While out on bond for the hospital attack, Garko broke into the home of her ex-boyfriend and stabbed her ex-boyfriend and his female friend as they slept. Both victims survived the attack.
