Interstate mower struck by car

On Thursday around 6:45 p.m., Cleveland police responded to the Fulton Road entrance ramp to I-71 northbound for a pedestrian struck.

The preliminary investigation reveals that the pedestrian - 30-year-old Travis T. Burch - was preparing cut the grass on the Interstate and was walking across the entrance ramp. As he crossed the entrance ramp, he was struck by a Nissan pickup truck - driven by 21-year-old Cody D. Bilak - that entering the Interstate. The pickup attempted to avoid Burch, but was unsuccessful and struck him. After hitting Burch, the driver remained on scene and was interviewed by investigators.

Burch was rushed to Metro. No word on his condition at this time.

The facts of this case will be presented to the City Prosecutor's Office for review.
