Maple Hts. woman struck by car, dragged

A Maple Heights woman remains hospitalized in critical condition after being struck and dragged by a vehicle.

The incident happened early Saturday morning around 2:50 a.m. on East 112th Street between Parkedge Drive and Regalia Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio.

According to Cleveland Police, Ebony Canion, 34, of Maple Heights and two females were involved in an argument with five females sitting inside a vehicle parked in the driveway when someone threw a BBQ grill at the windshield among other items.

The driver backed out of the driveway and sped off, hitting Ebony Canion and dragging her body down the street.

The vehicle turned the corner and Canion's body was shaken loose.

Cleveland Police and EMS were called out to scene. Canion was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center where she was listed in critical condition Saturday evening.

Cleveland Police arrested Fawntesha Wade, 28, of Cleveland, who is among the five suspects inside of the suspect vehicle.
