Boaters rescued near Vermilion

VERMILION, OH (WOIO) - Four people were rescued from a sinking boat Sunday near Vermilion, Ohio.

The Vermilion Police Department and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources were dispatched from the Vermilion Water Works Dock Sunday morning around 9:23 a.m. for a sinking vessel approximately one mile north of the Vermilion River.

Crews arrived on scene at 9:33 a.m. and located the sinking boat carrying with three adult males and a 4-year-old child.

Vermilion Police reported that the group's 16 foot Glasstron boat swamping when they arrived to the sinking site.

Crews towed the boat and turned it over to a salvage company.

There were no injuries reported.
