Indians Begin Homestand With A Loss

Cleveland (WOIO) - It may be too early to starting thinking about wild card implications, but clearly, the Los Angeles Angels are one of the teams that'll be in the playoff picture, and Monday night, they showed why.

With Jared Weaver stifling the Indians bats into the 8th inning, and his Angels teammates giving him a few runs to work with, the Angels opened the week with a 3-0 win at Progressive Field.

Ubaldo Jimenez wasn't bad, either, going seven and two thirds, but he did give up three runs on eight hits, including Howie Kendrick's solo home run in the 7th.

That was three more runs than Weaver allowed, as the Angels ace went seven innings, giving up no runs on five hits.

The Indians' best shot came in the 7th, when they loaded the bases with nobody out, before Johnny Damon grounded into a force play at the plate, Casey Kotchman popped up, and Shelley Duncan struck out to end the inning.
