Heat Advisory and More Storms, Priests Named for Closed Churches, Fireworks List

A heat advisory will go into effect for the entire state at noon with the heat index heading over 100 this afternoon. With the heat and humidity, there will be the risk for strong to severe storms to pop up after noon into tonight. A weak cold front crosses the area tomorrow morning, and a little relief from the humidity will come Thursday, but temperatures will still top out in the low 90s.

 The Diocese of Cleveland announces the appointments of four pastors for parishes soon to be opened: Reverend Daniel J. Reed has been appointed Pastor of St. Mary parish in Akron effective Monday, 16 July 2012. Reverend Daniel L. Begin has been appointed Pastor of St. Mary parish in Bedford effective Monday, 16 July, 2012. Reverend James R. Ols has been appointed Pastor of St. Patrick parish in Cleveland effective Monday, 16 July 2012. Reverend Robert J. Kropac has been appointed Pastor of St. Wendelin parish in Cleveland effective Monday, 16 July, 2012. Each pastor will determine the date for the opening Mass for his parish. Appointments of the pastors for two remaining parishes which are to be opened will be forthcoming. Reverend Donald H. Dunson has been appointed Pastor of St. Vincent DePaul parish in Elyria effective Monday 16 July 2012.
