Thursday AM storms left a dark trail

Severe weather ripped through Northeast Ohio Thursday morning knocking out power to more than 16,000 customers.

Damaging winds of up to 60 mph swept through the region taking down trees and poles in it's path.

The major outages were reported in Lorain and Cuyahoga Counties.

In Cuyahoga County, Cleveland, Lakewood, Avon, Euclid and North Ridgeville were hit hardest.

The Illuminating Company stated most customers will be restored by noon Thursday.

In Lorain County, Ohio Edison reported major outages in Vermilion, Elyria Township and the City of Lorain.
