Prison for man who robbed jewelry store at gunpoint

A 21-year-old sent to the slammer for his role in a brazen jewelry store robbery.

Vincent Murphy was sentenced to five years in prison.

On November 10, 2011, Murphy, along with three co-defendants entered Howard's Jewelers at 5889 Mayfield Road in Mayfield Heights.

They held six employees and one customer at gunpoint. The defendants took $18,405.00 in cash and $1,667.00 in jewelry from the store, and a purse from one of the victims.

Murphy's co-defendants are currently behind bars.

The court ordered each defendant to pay restitution to Howard's Jewelry Store in the amount of $5,582.
