Westlake man nailed for drunk driving twice in one night

WESTLAKE, OH (WOIO) - A 22-year-old Westlake man busted for drunk driving two times in the same night.

Adam McDanels was arrested for OVI on July 22 on Columbia Road after another motorist reported his erratic driving at 2:37 a.m. He gave a .144 breath test sample at Westlake Police Department, which automatically suspended his driver's license; his charges include BAC, Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia (pot pipe) and Failing to Drive in Marked Lanes.

He was released to his girlfriend.

At 5:24 a.m., he was stopped again on Hilliard Blvd. near Crocker Road and arrested again for OVI. He had taken his girlfriend's car without permission and was charged with OVI, BAC (.098), Driving Under Suspension, speed and improper left turn.

The girlfriend did not wish to file charges for the illicit use of her car.
