PARMA HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - A sergeant with the Parma Heights Police Department has been indicted for doctor shopping to get painkillers.
Cuyahoga County prosecutors charged Bernie Walls for lying to doctors to get the prescription pain meds. Court documents uncovered by 19 Action News reporter Ed Gallek shows the case goes back as far as 2010.
Specifics on the case haven't been released.
Parma Heights Police tell us Walls has been on the force for nearly 20 years. He retired in May under investigation and is cooperating with prosecutors.
