Cleveland (WOIO) - The Indians acquired first baseman/outfielder Lars Anderson from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for Akron Aeros pitcher Steven Wright prior to Tuesday's trade deadline.
Anderson has spent most of the season at Triple-A Pawtucket where he has hit .259 with 22 doubles, 2 triples, 9 home runs and 52 RBI's in 93 games.
He has appeared in 66 games at first base and 16 games in left field. The Oakland native also spent 6 games with the Red Sox at the end of April, hitting .125.
Anderson was selected by Boston in the 18th round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft out of Jesuit High School in Carmichael, CA. He owns a 6-year Minor League career average of .274 with 182 doubles, 76 home runs and 408 RBI's in 730 games.
Wright, a career minor leaguer, spent the entire 2012 season with the Akron Aeros. He was 9-6 with a 2.49 ERA.
