MENTOR, OH (WOIO) - A swimmer nearly drowned at Headlands Beach State Park Sunday morning.
The 34-year old tri-athlete was participating in an event at the beach.
Witnesses say he was supposed to swim 600 yards but started struggling half-way through.
Once pulled from the water, other swimmers gave him CPR and revived him before he was taken to Tripoint Medical Center. His name and condition are unknown at this time.
