CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald says Cuyahoga County is in great shape, economically speaking.
"We try to tell the truth about it," FitzGerald said in an exclusive interview.
The state of Ohio's unemployment is a full point lower than the national average of 8.3% and Cuyahoga County, contrary to popular belief is booming.
The Medical Mart and Convention Center, the East Bank of the Flats complex, development in University Circle and other corridors in the county are all adding to the tax base.
FitzGerald has the numbers to prove it saying sales tax revenue is on a steady increase.
If you drive around the county, the physical evidence is apparent too, like a new strip of stores in Lakewood at Detroit and Mars with a Quaker Steak and Lube restaurant, a Radio Shack and a new drug store.
FitzGerald says we are setting a national example of good governance and business development.
