Medical Examiner identifies pedestrian killed on east side

Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has identified the pedestrian fatally struck on Cleveland's east side early Thursday morning.

The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Aaron Nance of Cleveland.

Nance was struck by a car at East 93rd and Benham Avenue just before 4 a.m. Nance was rushed to Metro, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

After hitting Nance, the driver stopped, called 911 and is cooperating with police.

The preliminary investigation reveals speed was not a factor. It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drug use was a factor in this accident.

Upon completion, the facts of the investigation will be presented to the Prosecutor's Office for review.
