Tragic: Second victim from Cleveland house fire dies

The second victim in the house fire on E. 45th Street has died. 24-year old Anthony Gibson passed away Monday night.

EMS transported Anthony and his brother 19-year old Michael Gibson to MetroHealth Medical Center early Sunday morning when the house they were in, in the 1500 block of E. 45th Street, caught fire.  Michael died that day.

Firefighters say the fire appears to have started in the back of the house, possibly food left on the stove.

Larry Gray with the Cleveland Fire Department believes one of the victims tried to put it out, "I think it appears he made some efforts to put it out because he sustained some burns."

The brothers were in Cleveland visiting. They were the only ones inside the home at the time.

There was a smoke detector in the house, but the battery was dead.

Anyone who needs a smoke detector can get one through Operation Save-A-Life.
