CONCORD TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) - An investigation is underway after a 21-year-old Newbury man crashed his car into a home in Concord Township.
The accident happened at 10:17 p.m. Saturday night on Ravenna Road.
Police say Ryan W. Spofford was driving on Ravenna Road, just south of Auburn Road, on an uphill curved portion the road.
Spofford lost control on the uphill curve, and his vehicle went off the right side of Ravenna road and struck a traffic sign. The vehicle continued off the right side of the road striking several trees in this heavily wooded area. The vehicle continued through the underbrush and trees downhill, and finally struck the southwest corner of the residence located at 6285 Ravenna Road, which is situated at the base of the embankment.
The resident of 6285 Ravenna was home at the time and reported the crash. He was not injured. The siding of the home was only slightly damaged, but further inspection will have to be done to determine if the underlying structure suffered damage. There was no visible structural damage that could be seen at the time of the crash.
It was raining heavily at the time of the accident.
