PORTAGE COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - A 62-year-old Deerfield Township man arrested for growing marijuana inside his home.
It happened Friday, August 10 at Robert W. Hart's Higgins Road home.
According to the Portage County Sheriff, Members of the Portage County Drug Task Force received a tip from a concerned citizen that Hart was growing marijuana inside his residence.
Task Force Agents made contact with Hart and later searched the residence finding three separate rooms that were equipped with sophisticated equipment including grow lights, transformers, humidifiers, fans and filters along with all types of drug paraphernalia used in the cultivation of marijuana.
Approximately 60 marijuana plants ranging in size from 6 inches to 6 feet tall were removed from the residence.
The marijuana plants and equipment was confiscated as evidence. Task Force Agents will present this case to the Portage County Prosecutor's Office seeking additional charges.
Hart was faces cultivation of marijuana charges.
