BARBERTON, OH (WOIO) - A three-year-old boy was bitten by a dog at the Summit County Animal Control Shelter.
The attack happened Wednesday at the shelter on Opportunity Parkway.
According to Shelly Inman, the little boy's mother, the child was bitten in the leg and needed 15 stitches.
The little boy was being held by Shelly's boyfriend, and the dog was on a leash, held by an employee.
According to Inman, the dog suddenly lunged and bit the three-year-old.
The dog is now quarantined for 10 days to make sure it does not have rabies.
Jason Dodson, Chief of Staff for the Summit County Executive, confirms there was an incident at the facility, they have been in contact with the mom and they are investigating the incident.
