You can hardly blame us for getting a little fired up, we've been in the football desert since 1999, so you can bet a little pre-season success is going to get us going. Especially when the rookie quarterback looks like he may have a clue.
The Browns haven't had a 2-0 preseason since 2005.
One fan said, "Weeden looked more comfortable made better decisions its nice to see receivers catch the ball that a big improvement from last year."
Yes it is. And maybe some fans think the head coach, now in his second year, has handled his job.
"I think Shurmur is doing a better job and were seeing a better product and the team is moving forward. I'm excited. It's too bad Richardson is hurt, I think the running back will really help the offense," said another fan.
We are veteran football fans here in Cleveland, we know what happens in August has absolutely no bearing on what will happen in this stadium once the regular season begins, but last night did produce something, something we haven't had for a long time, and that's hope.
"The quarterback he looked good the receivers did their job the run game was pretty good, are you a little optimistic do you have hope, yeah I have hope I think they're going to do their thing this year," a fan said.
But one fan said it best, "I can't wait, hopefully this is the year. Hopefully, every year I think that."
If not, there's always next year.
