Family and friends gathered Friday night to remember 22-year-old Nakisha Jackson and 6-year-old Kammia Perry with a candlelight vigil.
Authorities say Nakisha and her daughter, Kammia, were killed by Demar Perry, Jackson's ex-boyfriend and father of Kammia.
Cleveland Police were called to the 1700 block of Hillview Road just before 11 p.m. Monday night. They arrived to find three people shot outside of the home. All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe the incident is a result of a domestic dispute that spilled outside onto the front porch and yard of the home. That's where they say Demar Perry shot his ex-girlfriend, and their young daughter before turning the gun on himself.
"This really hit home, just seven houses down from where I live. And it just make you say, do I have to come home armed? When I come home at night when I work?" said neighbor Thalles Stanley, Jr. "It's serious. And just for a baby to be taken away like that and her mom, it's just senseless."
A memorial fund has been set up at Huntington Bank to help the family with burial costs for Nakisha and Kammia.
