WANTED: Fugitive accused of using pistol, hammer in violent assault
The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Dayshawn Wheeler.
Wheeler is wanted by the U.S. Marshals and the Medina Co. Sheriff's Office. Wheeler is wanted for one count of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated robbery, three counts of felonious assault and one count of tampering with evidence. All these charges stem from an incident that happened back in May of this year. It is alleged that Wheeler broke into the victim's home while he was asleep. Wheeler then attacked the victim and pistol whipped him in the head until he cracked his skull. After that Wheeler grabbed a claw hammer and repeatedly hitting the victim in the abdomen several times. Wheeler then robbed the man and fled the scene. The victim stumbled to his neighbor's residence to seek help.
Wheeler is a 22-year-old black man standing approximately 5'06" and weighing 155 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Wheeler is believed to be hiding either in Cleveland of Medina. He also has a previous address near the 200 block of Abbyville Road in Medina.
