52-year-old accused of cutting man's neck during argument

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

A 52-year-old man charged with felonious assault after a fight turned physical in Akron.

It happened Sunday around 2:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Harrison Avenue.

Police say Paul Freeman Thornton, Jr. got into a verbal argument while at the victim's home. The argument escalated, and Thorton is accused of cutting the victim on the neck.

The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent surgery. The victim has serious injuries.

Thornton was arrested around 1 a.m. in Mogadore, and was booked into the Summit County Jail.
