Judgment day for a Cleveland man who admitted to beating his dog before attacking two police officers.
Tramell Sanders avoided prison, and was sentenced to probation.
On April 10, Sanders was kicking, choking and beating his dog with a stick outside of a gas station located at East 55th Street and St. Clair Avenue.
Officers arrived on scene and ordered Sanders to stop the attack. When Sanders refused, officers took the leash from him to prevent him from causing additional harm to the dog.
Officers then attempted to apprehend Sanders, who resisted arrest by repeatedly punching and biting the officers. Both officers received minor injuries due to the assault.
On July 19, Sanders plead guilty to two counts of assault on a police officer.
