Oakland, CA (WOIO) - For the second time in a week, a major league player from the Bay Area has been suspended for 50 games for testing positive for testosterone. Last week it was Melky Cabrera of the Giants. Wednesday, it was Bartolo Colon of the A's.
Colon, the former Indians pitcher, will miss the final 40 games of the regular season, and first 10 of the postseason if the A's advance that far. Oakland began Wednesday just a half-game out of the A.L. wild card race.
