Cleveland Browns running back Trent Richardson is expected to play in the season opener against Philadelphia on September 9, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Richardson, who had arthroscopic surgery on August 9, hasn't seen any action in the team's two preseason games.
A source told Schefter the team will limit Richardson's workload until he's healed a little more from the surgery.
The rookie from Alabama has had two surgeries this year on his knee. In February, Richardson has surgery on the same knee to repair a torn meniscus.
