19 Action News is taking you behind bars, giving you an exclusive look at a new Hi-tech way for prisoners to see a doctor.
Some inmates don't have to go to the hospital to see a doctor anymore. Now all they have to do is talk to a TV screen.
The latest technology is taking place at the Cuyahoga County Jail and 19 Action News got an exclusive look.
The new technology allows inmates to be in the hospital and the jail at once. The jail is calling it tele-medicine and a doctor at Metrohealth Medical Center is among those on staff.
"We need these special consultations and advice like this. This brings it right into the jail. Its really quite remarkable," said Dr. John Barnett.
Officials say this method saves tax dollars as well.
