Man arrested in connection with Friday homicide

Cleveland Police have a man in custody in connection with a homicide that happened at E. 108th and Sandusky Ave. Friday night just after 6pm.

When officers arrived on scene Friday, they found a 34-year-old male shot.  He was transported by EMS to MetroHealth Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

Police say the preliminary investigation reveals that the victim was fighting with another male inside of a black SUV, possibly an Escalade.  The two males then exited the vehicle and continued to fight in the street.

At some point, multiple shots were fired and the second male fled in the vehicle, last seen southbound on E. 109th St.  Police say it is unclear at this time who fired the shots and how many people were at the scene of the fight.

19 Action News is being told the victim suffered gunshot wounds to his head, neck, one shoulder and leg.

The name of the victim has not been released.  The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiners Office will determine the final cause of death.

Saturday, police said they had Trvawn McPherson, a 20-year-old man, in custody in connection with this incident.
