Two EMS workers responding to a 911 call for a man with lower back pain were shot at once they were on scene.
The workers tell police they arrived at the house on Hillview Road around 12:40 a.m. Saturday morning and saw a man in an upstairs window looking out at them. The asked him if he was the one that called 911, and he said, "Yes, I don't want you no more," and began mumbling.
That's when the medics heard him cock the gun and he then pointed a long barreled gun out of the window.
They ran as they heard the gun going off.
Police were called to the scene as well as SWAT.
The suspect eventually gave up without further incident. He was taken to St. Vincent Charity Hospital for a psych evaluation.
