Mentor: PNC customer caught robbing the bank

MENTOR, OH (WOIO) - Mentor Police received a call of a bank robbery at PNC Bank, 8537 Mentor Ave just after 12:30 PM Wednesday.  Witnesses say the suspect entered the bank and presented a note to the teller requesting all of her money.  Once he received the money, he fled the bank on foot.  No weapon was seen and nobody was hurt.

The suspect was described as a black male, wearing a dark shirt, dark pants and a black leather hat.  Eye witnesses to the robbery recognized the suspect as a previous customer of the bank.  The robbery suspect was identified as Stacey Robinson, a 46 year old male from Mentor.     

Patrol Officers began checking the area for Stacey Robinson and located him leaving his residence about an hour after the robbery. 

Robinson is being charged with one count of robbery.  He is set to appear in Mentor Municipal Court on Thursday morning at 8:00 am.

The Mentor Police Department is also investigating Stacey Robinson as a possible suspect in the Dollar Bank robbery from July 17th 2012.
